Buddy Maps LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Festival Buddy mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app.

Information We Collect

Festival Buddy collects the minimum data necessary to provide its core features:

• Display Name — a nickname you choose when sharing your location with friends. This does not need to be your real name.
• Location Data — your GPS coordinates, shared only while you actively choose to share with friends via a PIN code. Location is not tracked in the background.
• Messages — text and voice messages sent between you and your connected friends within the app.
• Saved Pins — map pins you save (campsite, car, etc.) are stored locally on your device only.

How We Use Your Data

• To show your location to friends you have explicitly connected with via a shared PIN code.
• To deliver messages between connected friends.
• To display your proximity and direction to friends on the compass.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your location is only visible to friends you have explicitly shared your PIN code with.

Data Storage and Retention

• Location data is stored temporarily on our servers and is deleted when you stop sharing.
• Messages are stored on our servers for delivery and are associated only with your anonymous PIN code.
• Saved pins are stored locally on your device and never uploaded to our servers.
• We do not create user accounts or store email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.

Location Services

Festival Buddy requires location access ("While Using the App") to show your position on the map and share it with friends. Location is never collected in the background. You can stop sharing at any time by tapping "Stop Sharing" in the app.

Analytics and Tracking

We do not use any third-party analytics services, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies. The app does not contain ads.

Children's Privacy

Festival Buddy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect data in transit and at rest, including HTTPS encryption for all API communications. PIN codes are randomly generated and serve as anonymous identifiers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
